Textile of Upperward Talk
Join us on Wednesday 19th of August for our “The Textile History of the Upperward” talk.
Our speaker, Lanark Library's Reference Librarian Elena Focardi, will take you through a journey uncovering the development of textiles all around the historic Upperward of Lanarkshire, from domestic uses of wool and linen to the cotton industrial boom. You’ll also find out about the lives of the people working in and around the textile industry and get a sneak peek into some of New Lanark’s textile collections!
